I’ll be spending the weekend…here? The ball’s in your court, North Carolinians- where do I eat? Where do I drink? Where do I coffee?! #adviceappreciated #lostinSoutherntranslation
The best are the local places. 411 West for lunch, Lantern for dinner. SUGARLAND for coffee, and a cupcake. Jack Sprat, also, for coffee and sandwiches. Carolina Coffee Shop, which is actually a restaurant, is good standard fare. Sutton’s for milkshakes, Ye Olde Waffle shop for breakfast. Top of the Hill or Carolina Brewery for beer (they brew their own), Crunkleton for classy drinks and Bob’s to mingle with the few greeks that will be in town this weekend. R&R is AMAZING for everything- brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks, dessert- and is my personal favorite bar (say hi to Matt the bartender for me!). He’s Not Here for karaoke on Sunday nights and large quantities of beer for cheap. For late night, try Pita Pit, BSkis, or Cosmic Cantina. Hang out on Franklin street, it’s where the party’s at and where every single place I’ve listed thus far is located. Also, for some good southern home cookin, Mama Dip’s on Rosemary Street. If you want to venture all the way down west Franklin street, you’ll hit hippie-town, aka Carrboro. Brunch is amazing at Elmo’s and the Station is a fun bar. Weaver Street Market is there for all your organic food needs.
HAVE SO MUCH FUN! I love chapel hill and UNC, so lucky to be a student there.
